Vietnam, a study in contrasts
Hanoi is Asia’s grand dame – elegant, faded, graceful and mildly eccentric. If there’s one place in Asia to get up early in the morning, this is it. The city comes slowly to life before the cool dawn as the flower markets explode with colour, then Hanoi’s citizens slip quietly onto the sidewalks and into the leafy parks to exercise, gossip and shop for the day’s fresh produce.
By contrast, Ho Chi Minh City (AKA Saigon) is bright, brazen and businesslike. The colonial and wartime legacy of the city is there to explore, but the key to understanding and enjoying Saigon is to experience it like a local – dive into the shopping, the wonderful cuisine, the café culture and the vibrant nightlife. This city is all energy, all the time.

Vietnam's cultural treasures
The ancient city of Hue has so much to offer the meeting planner and the traveller – from the imposing grandeur of the Imperial Citadel to the eclectic charm of the Emperor’s mausoleums and the peace of the Perfume River.
Hoi An is the jewel in the crown of Vietnam’s destinations, almost every visitor lists this small town as their favourite stopover. A great beach, tiny streets of ancient trading houses, stunning architecture, terraced cafés with wonderful food and Vietnam’s finest handicrafts – it’s no wonder people rave about it!
The rural north is home to 56 separate ethnic groups, each with a vibrant culture and thousands of years of heritage. These people live a simple life unchanged in millennia and a meeting with them is a fascinating insight to a world long forgotten.

Vietnam's beaches and resorts
Vietnam borders the warm waters of the South China Sea, and countless bays and beaches lie waiting to be discovered. Vietnam is also home to some of Asia’s finest spas, often housed within world-beating beachside resorts. The heavenly Evason Hideaway, Tatler (UK) Magazine’s hotel of the year 2006 is located in beautiful Nha Trang.
Perhaps Asia’s last undiscovered beach destination is the Island of Phu Quoc off Vietnam’s south coast. Pristine beaches, clear water, boutique resorts and peace and quiet aplenty are the hallmarks of this charming island destination.
Many of these beautiful coastal cities also offer world class golf and meeting facilities.
